Kathrine (Kathy) Jo Minchew, 48, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Hospice of the Golden Isles with her husband by her side.

Kathy was born March 16, 1974, in Brooksville, FL, to Kenneth Waymon Willoughby and Debra Kay Smiley. She lived most of her life in Brunswick GA, graduating from Brunswick High School in 1992.  Kathy was influential in starting Bay Harbor Child Care in 2004 and later moving up to be the Administrative Assistant at Bay Harbor Church of God where she led and played an active role in many church and youth activities. She loved painting, the beach, serving the Lord and her community, and being with her family.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Bradley Kenneth Minchew and mother, Debra Kay Smiley. She is survived by her husband, Brad Minchew, their children, Bradley F. Minchew (Brittany), and Nicole Minchew, granddaughter, Blakelynn Faye Minchew, father, Kenneth W. Willoughby, brother, Kenneth P. Willoughby (Anna Kate), sister, April Mahan (Steven), and nieces and nephews, Smith & Wessyn Willoughby, and Sawyer, Finn, & River Mahan.

The family gives special thanks to MD Anderson Cancer Center of Jacksonville, FL and Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at Bay Harbour Church of God on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Visitation will be between 5:00pm and 6:00pm, with a service to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers the family would welcome donations in her honor to be sent to Bay Harbour Church of God Kid's Ministry.
