Lee Ed Withrow, age 94, of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

He was born September 26, 1931, in Jesup, Georgia, to the late Joe Withrow, Sr. and Rilla Thompson Withrow. Ed began his career in Jesup at Walker Chevrolet before moving to Brunswick, where he worked for Coastal Chevrolet, later known as Dan Vaden Chevrolet. He dedicated many years to his work and took pride in his career.

On September 26, 1953, his 22nd birthday, Ed married the love of his life. The very next day, he was called to serve his country in the Korean War. After returning home, he and his beloved wife welcomed their daughter in March of 1957. Ed and his wife shared 65 wonderful years of marriage before her passing.

Ed enjoyed camping, fishing, working on outboard motors, gardening, and riding his golf cart around the neighborhood. He especially loved spending time with his cherished "furbaby," Abbie, whom he proudly babysat each day while his daughter worked or ran errands.He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather "Na-Na", and great-grandfather.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Polly Withrow; his sisters, Elouise Ogden and Betty Davis; and his brother, Pete Withrow.

He is survived by his daughter, Diane Brinson (Daryle) of Brunswick; his sister, Barbara Dunn (Bug) of Jesup; two grandchildren, Mandy Brinson Hubbard (Matt) of Jesup and Buddy Brinson of Brunswick; two great-granddaughters, Hannah Grace Brinson (Hayden Young, also known as "George") of Brunswick and Alyvia Brinson of Screven; five great-grandsons, Maddox, Mason, Maxton, Miles, and Maverick Hubbard of Jesup; and one step-great-granddaughter, Kailey (Lee) Gibson. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Abbie.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the friends who supported Ed in his later years, especially those who shared his passion for boat motors: Mike Fryar, Gene Swindel, Randall Moss, Bobby "Beaner" Bean, Jimmy Byrd, and the crew at Ellis Marine. Special appreciation is also extended to TJ Overcash for providing gardening space, and to his neighbors, Daniel Garcia and Carl Page, for their kindness and dedication in helping him whenever needed.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Hospice of the Golden Isles for their compassionate care and support.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ozell Massey officiating. Burial will follow at Palmetto Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
