Leo Allen Spade, 76, of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, January 4,2023 at his residence.Leo was born December 6,1946 in Lyons, New York to Violet Emma Yonker and Leo Sherman Spade. He graduated from North Rose High School in 1964 and enrolled in the United States Air Force. After proudly serving his country, Leo worked for the Xerox corporation as a delivery driver until his retirement in 2000. It was then that he moved from Fairport, New York to Brunswick, Georgia. An avid outdoorsman, Leo loved fishing, hunting and camping in his spare time. He enjoyed spending time watching his grandkids play and tell stories and was quite the jokester himself. He was a proud member of the American Legion #0583 of Dexter, New York, and the Sterling Church of God.Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 53 years; Alatha Spade, children; Joey Spade, Trini Pacleb (Brent), grandchildren; Anthony, Alexis (Kyle), Corey, Kaycie, Jakob (Michelle), Kamea, Dani, Evan, Emma, great-grandchildren; Makaila, Adelyn, Waylon, Koralyn, Bri, Kaselynn; along with many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends; and fur babies; Lovey and Missy. He is preceded in death by his parents.The family extends gratitude to all the staff at Hospice of Golden Isles for their exceptional love and care.
A service with military honors will be 12:00 Noon, Friday, January 13,2023 at The Sterling Church of God, 6670 New Jesup Hwy, Brunswick, GA 31520 , with a visitation held an hour prior at 11:00 AM. Pastor Larry Daughtry will be officiating. A meal at the church will follow the service for fellowship. Joey Spade, Brent Pacleb, Jakob Colon, Kyle Worth, and Corey Spade will be serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in Leo's honor to Hospice of The Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Pkwy, Brunswick, GA 31525 or The Sterling Church of God.
