Leslie "Les" Daniel McCarthy Sr., 53, of Brunswick, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 20,2022 at Southeast Georgia Health System.

Born June 20,1968 to Ronnie McCarthy and Patricia Sanders, Leslie was a lifelong Glynn County resident. When he was young, he loved sports, and especially enjoyed watching Georgia Bulldog football.  He was charming and extremely outgoing. He was a family man with a huge heart, taking care of his father when he fell ill, and his mother when she was in Georgia. Leslie was a hardworking and gifted carpenter by trade, but most of all he was a loving father.

Left to cherish his memory is his better half; Paula Petit, his mother; Patricia McCarthy, brother; Curtis McCarthy (Lynn), sister; Rhonda Proffitt (Buck), two sons; Daniel McCarthy, and Dustin McCarthy, daughter; Tess Marie McCarthy, three grandchildren; Mattie Kate, Christopher, and Ronnie, two nieces; Linda Proffitt, and Rose Stock (Zac), a great niece; Georgia Stock, a great nephew; River Stock, and numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Ronnie McCarthy.

A memorial gathering will take place this Friday February 25,2022 from 12:00- 5:00 PM at the home of his mother.
