Linda McDaniel Blount, 84, of Brunswick, passed away Friday, July 6, 2023, at Southeast Georgia Health System's Senior Care Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023, 11:00 am, at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Landrum officiating.  Interment will follow at Palmetto Cemtery with Brett Minnis, Brandon Blount, Toby Austin Blount, Jr., Johnathan Bennett, James Parmelee, and Max Parmelee serving as active pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Nurses and Staff of SGHS Senior Care Center's Ocean Breeze Wing.  A visitation for family and friends will be held at Bible Baptist Church from 10:00am until service time.

Linda was born August 2, 1938, in Baxley, GA, to Lawrence Gardner McDaniel and Willie Bullard McDaniel. She had been a resident of Brunswick for the past 66 years, and was a retired detention officer with the Glynn County Sheriff's Office.  Linda made the most beautiful hand sewn quilts, and loved dogs, hiking, and traveling abroad. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

Linda is survived by her children, Thomas Howard Blount, Jr. (Charlene) of Brunswick, Toby Austin Blount, Sr. (Nenia) of Waynesville, Robin Blount Parmelee (James) of St. Simons Island, Donna Blount Morgan (Tyrone) of Hortense, and Kelly Blount Herberger (Carlos), of Jacksonville, a brother, Larry McDonald (Dolly) of Brunswick, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a bro9ther, Jan R. McDaniel.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Bible Baptist Church.
