Linda Mae Caroline Yarbrough Taylor, 75, of St. Simons Island, GA, passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2024 after fighting a brief illness in Wilmington, North Carolina. In her final moments, she was surrounded by numerous family members. She was preceded in death by her parents Gladys and Arnel Yarbrough, her brother Garnell "Budda" Yarbrough, her loyal dog Lil Pooh, and the love of her life, Mark Taylor. They shared 17 wonderful years of marriage together.

Born in Gumbranch, Georgia on May 3rd, 1949 in her family home, she was the daughter of Gladys and Arnel Yarbrough. She loved all of her family oh so dearly and they love her just the same. She is survived by two children, Mandy Morgan (Dave) of Shellman Bluff, GA, and Jill Lott (Bud) of Hubert, NC; four stepchildren, Esther (Andy) Hirschberg of Rocky Mount, NC, Gerald (Tricia) Taylor of Emporia, VA,  Donnie (Donna) Taylor of Emporia, VA, and Robbie Taylor (Brenda) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; numerous step-grandchildren; four grandchildren, Alexis Roberts (Matthew), Caroline Lott, Charles Lott, and Dylan Morgan; Two great-grandchildren, Faith Roberts, and Taylor Gordon; and two siblings, Faye Howard of St. Marys, GA, and Jack (Terri) Yarbrough of Hinesville, GA.

Linda was a 1967 graduate of Camden County High School. After graduation she attended Brewton Parker College on a music scholarship where she sang in the touring choir and received an associates degree. Following college, Linda worked for the Department of Family and Children Services for 34 years before she retired. In her time working, she helped numerous children and volunteered working with adoptive parents, training foster parents, and working as a counselor at Camp Earthling with foster children. She was a wonderful case manager and always worked to make the lives of children in foster care the best it could be.

Linda was a lively woman with a personality that was larger than life and oh so infectious. She was a lover of all things pink, flamingo, and glittery and when she walked in a room all of the eyes were on her in her special outfits and bright smile. She always made people feel like they were the most important person in the room with her caring nature and her special way of listening. She cherished her groups of friends dearly and would always plan and attend girls trips, game nights, line dancing, and so much more.

Linda was a special person that held a place in everyone's hearts. She will be missed by so many and there will be a void in her place for a long time. She lived a life that was full, and left with no regrets.

The family invites people who knew Linda to attend her service at Chapman Funeral Chapel in Brunswick on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 10:00am. It is requested that everyone wear pink to the service to honor her.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation Veteran Hunt or the McIntosh County Empty Stocking Fund care of Southeastern Bank.
