Lucille Ward Barron, 84, of Brunswick, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at Harborview Satilla in Waycross.

Lucille was born December 29, 1938, in Brunswick, to Bryant Samuel Ward and Allie Godley Ward.  Lucille had lived in Brunswick all of her life, attending Glynn Academy.  She was a Teacher's Aide at Goodyear Elementary School for 29 1/2 years and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.  She enjoyed cooking and loved raising her children and grandchildren.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, R.F. 'Yank" Barron, a son, Reggie Barron, and siblings, Bobbie Rhymes, Jackie Ward, Raymond Ward, and Althea Knight.  She is survived by her children, Gary W. Barron, Debbie C. McElmurray, Adrienne Copeland (Jonathan), all of Brunswick, Michelle Barron of Iowa, and Shane Barron (Melissa) of Dallas, GA, grandchildren, Megan Swantek, Morgan Whitten, and Ayden Barron, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Lucille Barron will be held at The 1st Free Will Baptist Church in Brunswick, GA Saturday June 24, 2023, with Pastor Chris McEachern officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:30 AM with the service to follow at 11:00.
