Obituary

Lynndy left this world peacefully Easter Sunday morning, surrounded by family.

Lynndy was a ray of sunshine to all that had the privilege of knowing her. Lynndy had a lifelong struggle with Rett Syndrome, a very rare and debilitating genetic condition that causes young girls to have significant challenges in almost all aspects of life.

While her speech and ability to verbally communicate were limited, she had no problem communicating with the sparkle in her beautiful eyes and her multitude of expressions. Spending time with Lynndy and having her smile or laugh for you was a blessing beyond compare. Through her unconditional love, she taught us many lessons on compassion and empathy. Our lives have been forever enriched by the blessing of being her family.

Lynndy lived a full 18-plus years, enjoyed travel, and spending time with family. She was able to vacation to many locations in the United States. "The Wiggles" were her favorite show, and she was fortunate to have attended several concerts with and enjoyed an in-person meeting and photo session. Lynndy was a senior at Brunswick High School.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Joyce Barwick; and grandfather, Glen Bates Sr.

Survivors include her parents, Ronnie and Pam Bates Barwick; sister, Samantha Barwick; brothers, Christopher and Chase Barwick; nieces and nephews, Madeline, Hayley, Shane, Willow and Rhydian; grandparents, George and Mary Kate Martin, Dennie and Stephanie Barwick; uncle, Glen Bates Jr.; great-uncle, Larry "Buddy" Davis; and special cousin, care giver Donna B. Lewis.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to many friends and family that were instrumental in Lynndy's life. Special appreciation to the Buds ministry program through The Chapel, Debbie Holton, Lynndy's paraprofessional for the past seven years, and all her special education teachers, staff and bus drivers with Glynn County school system.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021, at The Chapel United Methodist Church, 114 Harris Farm Road, Brunswick, Ga.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
