Margaret B " Maggie" Sutton (94) passed away peacefully on July 2nd, in her home with her children by her side.

Mrs. Sutton was born on November 17,1926 in her grandmother's home in Trader's Hill, GA, to Horace Newt Boring, Sr. and Suzie Quarterman Boring.  The family relocated to Woodbine, GA where she graduated at the age of 16 from Camden County High School. Always known for her beauty, inside and out, she was crowned Miss Kingsland 1942. Margaret moved to Brunswick where she attended Perry Business School and began her 46 year career with the Brunswick Pulp and Paper Company (Georgia Pacific) in the accounting department. Maggie, the nickname she acquired during this time, lived in a boarding house on Hanover Square, for single women, and rode the trolley to the Mill each day. Being involved with sports in her younger days, she joined BP & P Women's Basketball team, and at 5'10" she was the star. After her retirement, she continued to stay involved with her co-workers as Treasurer of the Retiree's Group.

Maggie joined the First United Methodist Church of Brunswick on April 12,1959. After her retirement from BP & P, she accepted the position as Treasurer of the church, an office which she held for seventeen years until her second retirement at the age of 91. Additionally, she was the Treasurer of the United Methodist Women, a member of Mary Martha Fellowship, where she also served as Treasurer, and was a member of the Duncan Sunday School Class.

Maggie and her husband of 40 years, W. Glenn Sutton, had participated in a couples bowling league many years earlier and in 2001 she joined the Golden Isles USBC Seniors Bowling League which she enjoyed until she was 89 years old. In 2012 she was named Senior Bowler of the Year, much to her surprise and delight.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Horace Newt "Buddy" Boring Jr. and sisters-in-law, Floella Outler Boring, Rosalie Sutton Gormly  and Claryce Sutton Strother.

She is survived by her son, The Honorable William Glenn "Woody" Sutton, Rear Admiral, USN, (ret.) and his wife Claudia of Melbourne, FL, her daughter,  Leslie Sutton of St. Simons Island, grandsons  Michael Sutton Biletzskov, and his wife Ashley and step great grandchildren Kerrigan Biletzskov and Harrison Black, all of St. Simons Island, and William Glenn (Wenn) Biletzskov, his wife Brittany, and great grandchildren, Whitaker Glenn and Margaret Ann Biletzskov of Hanahan SC, and a brother, Ralph Clark, and his wife Margie of Perry FL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Gifts for Connection Park, 1400 Norwich St., Brunswick GA 31520.

A celebration of Maggie's life will be held on Tuesday July 13th at 11:00 at the First United Methodist Church of Brunswick with Rev. Dr. Wright A. Cullpepper officiating, and Rev. Richard E. Turner giving the eulogy.  A reception will follow in the Welcome Center of the church.
