Maria was born in Mexico with her brother and sister. She then came to the United States where she had her son and daughter. Maria had a long career working for the government where she met the love of her life, Martin Helean. She lived a long and happy life with people she loved and adored. If you knew Maria, you knew she enjoyed watching her apocalyptic films and drama filled tv shows, being accompanied by her two dogs and bird. She loved her grand-daughters who were the lights of her life. Maria had a life surrounded by loved ones and many life long memories that everyone who loved her will never forget.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Hurtado, father, Eliezar (Al) Hurtado, and Son, Rudy Garcia Jr.

Those left to honor the memory of Maria include her husband, Martin Helean, Daughter, Jessica Garcia, Granddaughters, Korinna Garcia and Avianna McDonald, Grandson, Aiden Inthavong, Sister and her fiancé, Cecilia McDonald and Ross Leth, Brother, Ricardo Rivera, Nephews, Johnathan Leth, Seth McDonald and his spouse Angela Hackbarth, Nieces, Roxanna McDonald, Aliyah Leth and Gina Rivera. Brother in laws, Walter Helean and his children, Riley and Kaleah Helean, Ronnie Helean and his spouse, Marlene Helean and daughter Kennedy Helean.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to any diabetic research or dialysis treatment organizations.

A memorial Mass will be held Tuesday August 9, 2022, 6:00pm, with Father Timothy McKeown officiating, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Brunswick, GA.
