Marie Cowman Stewart, 87, of Brunswick, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held from the gravesite at Palmetto Cemetery, Thursday, February 4, 2021, 11:00 am, with Rev. Wesley Deverger officiating.  A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2021, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Chapman Funeral Chapel.

Marie was born February 21, 1933 in Brunswick to John Hodgeson and Tallulah Gordon Cowman.  She had lived all her life in Brunswick, was a 1951 graduate of Glynn Academy and was a member of Arco United Methodist Church.  Marie retired from Suntrust Bank as a supervisor in the proof department.  She collected Lighthouses and Angels and loved spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Brian Stewart(Diane) and James Stewart (Linda), a brother, Red Cowman (Brenda), all of Brunswick, grandchildren, Carrie Stewart, Kevin Lazzara, Allen Stewart, Christopher Stewart, Destiny Stewart, and Lee Woods (Laura), several great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son Norman J. Stewart, III, her husband, N.J. Stewart, and 3 siblings.
