Obituary

Mark John Douglas, 63, died on June 21, 2026, at the hospital in Brunswick.

Mark was born January 19, 1963, in New York and raised in Connecticut by his mother Judith Douglas. He graduated from the Connecticut school of Broadcasting and went on to become a radio personality on Golden Isles Broadcasting.  He moved on to ESPN Coastal Georgia where he was the Creative Production Director for four markets. He later had his own company Nikkos Creative Production where he wrote, produced and voiced radio and TV commercials. He played bass locally in his band, Grumpy Monkey and other bands.

He was well known and loved in his community here and in Connecticut and enjoyed volunteering for people and events. He has been described as having a larger-than-life personality. He was thoughtful, loyal and kind and a wonderful friend to many. He was quick witted and had a distinctive and manly voice and a contagious laugh.  Among many of his talents he hosted Trivia three nights a week. He was an ordained minister and married many couples. He will be sorely missed by his family and his many friends. He made a study of mythology and science fiction and was an enthusiastic artist from a young age.

He is survived by Judith Douglas (mother), Diane Shapiro (Aunt) Alan and many other beloved family members.

A private service for family only will be held, followed by a Celebration of Life service to be held at a later date for family and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be announced by Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematory once they have been confirmed.
