Obituary

Marlin Sharp Knight, 97, of Inman, SC, passed away, December 21, 2022, at Upstate Community Hospice in Landrum, SC.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022, 11:00 am, at Chapman Funeral Chapel, with entombment to follow with military honors, at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Chapman Funeral Chapel one hour prior to service time.

Marlin was born January 28, 1925, in Jamestown, KY. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War, II. Marlin had lived most of his life in Brunswick, where he was a self-employed truck driver. He later worked for, and retired from the City of Brunswick, Public Works Department. Marlin lived in Wellborn, FL for several years, where he attended the Wellborn Baptist Church, later moving to Inman, SC, to be closer to his daughter, where he had lived for the past six months. Marlin loved Hardee's, enjoyed telling stories from his truck driving days, and also enjoyed tinkering will antique engines.

Survivors include his daughter, Wanita Ruppert (Gene), of Inman, SC, a son-in-law, Robert Smith of Eustis, FL, grandchildren, Michelle Smith (Rick), and Tara Spurling, great grandchildren, Leann Smith, Nicholas Spurling, and Caden Smith, numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Cindy Knight, and a multitude of friends, including special friends Donald Willis, and David & Theresa Ochsenbauer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Agape Care of South Carolina.
