Mary Carolyn 'Carol' Carter States, 83, of St. Simons Island, GA, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

A private family service will be held from the gravesite at Evergreen Cemetery.

Carol was born August 17, 1941, in Hazelhurst, GA, to Jack Clarence Carter and Johnnie Miriam Googe Carter.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Dixon of Brunswick, brothers Don Carter (Faye), and John Carter (Sharon), all of Brunswick, a sister Sue Moore (David) of Viera, FL, grandchildren, Joseph Dixon, Jennifer Dixon, Jonathan States, Joshua States, and Miguel Rebledo, great grandchildren, Gage Thomas, Megan Davis, Bailey Dixon, Anaya States, Coven States, and Raye States, and 2 great great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas I. States.
