Obituary

Michael Andrews Ehringer, 85, Brunswick, GA made his transition to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at his home after a long illness of bladder and pancreatic cancer due to Agent Orange exposure in Viet Nam.

Mike was born in Rockford, IL on February 14, 1940 to Theodore Rutherford Ehringer and Minnet Mae Deemie Ehringer. His family moved to Peoria, IL when he was 6 months old. He graduated from Richwoods High School after attending Woodruff High for 3 years in Peoria. After graduation and at age 19, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Air Wing. While in service, he attended night schools at East Carolina College in Cherry Point, NC. as well as Pensacola (FL)

Junior College. Before being sent to Vietnam, he was awarded his Associate Arts degree from PJC. After his medical discharge from the military, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Oklahoma City University,(OK) at age 32 while working full time to support his family and attending night school.

Mike's accomplishments in the USMC were completing flight school earning his Air Wings at Pensacola Naval Station as a Staff Sergeant (E-6) teaching Aerial Photo Electronics. His next distinguished accomplishment was being commissioned as a temporary 2nd lieutenant. This honor came under a USMC program "Excellence in Leadership Ability" where only 300 enlisted personnel were chosen out of entire Corps. Before his medical discharge in 1971, his commission was made "permanent" and later he earned his 1st Lieutenant bars before his release from USMC.

After his discharge, Mike entered the business world being employed in Sales/Management by General Electric, Philips Electronics (Radiant Lighting) Westinghouse Lighting. Before retiring at 72, his last position was with Westinghouse as the National Sales Manager of the "Long Life" division.

Michael is survived by his wife of 65 years, Diana Kay Caldwell Ehringer, 3 children, Mark Ehringer, Gulf Breeze, FL, Kevin Ehringer, Seymour, TX (estranged) Michelle Adams (Tim Jones) St. Simons Island, GA. Grandchildren, Bryce Adams and Brandon Adams. both of Roswell, GA, Alec Ehringer, Austin, TX, Travis Ehringer, Dallas, TX, Andrea Ehringer Fay, (Forrest) Seymour, TX, nephews, Delton Means and David Means, Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Patricia Hageman, Rebecca Bussells, Rev. Jacqueline Means.
