Mollie Horton Knowles. 98, of Brunswick, passed away Monday August 1, 2022 at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Funeral services will be held from the gravesite at Macedonia Baptist Church in McRae, at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, August 3, 2022, with Rev. Timothy Paul Knowles officiating.

Mollie Lee Horton was born February 24, 1924, in McRae, GA, to Hoyt and Lillie Rogers Horton.  She married William Henry Knowles on September 24, 1943, and moved to Brunswick in 1954.  After moving to Brunswick, they joined Blythe Island Baptist Church, where they were active members until her husband passed away in October of 2000.  Mollie was a homemaker that loved quilting, sewing, cooking, and taking care of her grandchildren.

Mollie is survived by her children, Henry Knowles of Brunswick, Carolyn Purvis (Buddy) of Lawrenceville, David Knowles (Terri) of Brunswick, Wanda Herrington (Rusty) of Statesboro, Dale Herrington of Nashville, GA, and Joey Knowles of Brunswick, sisters-in-law, Evelyn Horton of McRae, and Nadine Knowles of Bon Air, GA, a brother-in-law, Rev. Carl Knowles of Dalton, GA, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lumb Knowles.
