Monty Paul Lensch, 71, of St. Simons Island, entered life eternal on October 15, 2022 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles, Brunswick, Georgia.  Monty was born May 23, 1951 in Carroll, Iowa. After a family move to Nebraska in 1963, he graduated with of class of 1969 from Fremont Senior High School, Fremont, NE and later received a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks and Recreation from Northern Colorado University, Greely, CO.

After graduation, Monty remained in Greeley where he was employed by the Weld County Hospital as a personnel manager until his retirement. In 2006, Monty moved to Saint Simons Island, Georgia to be closer to family.  Once settled, he worked as a role player at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

Monty never married but enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed being outdoors and white-water rafting, camping, softball, volley ball and golf. In the past few years, he enjoyed playing fantasy golf on his computer and games with his grandnieces. Monty remained close to his friends in Colorado.

He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert "Bud" Arthur Lensch II and Ruby May Lensch, St. Simons Island, GA.  He is survived by his brother, Herbert "Bud" Arthur Lensch III (Virginia) of St. Simons Island and three nephews, Herbert "Bert" Arthur Lensch IV (Sandra) of Statesboro, GA, Timothy Andrew Lensch (Selena) of Brunswick, GA, and Erik William Lensch (Dalton) of Charleston, SC, and two grandnieces, Bryar Ann Lensch and Margaret Mae Lensch of Brunswick, GA.

A memorial service will be celebrated by Pastor Bob Kasting at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 2801 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, GA, on November 6, 2022, at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, Brunswick, GA.
