Nadya Marilys Castro,55, of Darien, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at Southeast Georgia Health System of Brunswick.

Nadya was born March 8, 1971 in Puerto Rico, to Roberto Castro and Olga Caballero. She graduated from Collingswood High School class of 1988, in Collingswood, NJ, and attended nativity of Our lady Catholic Church in Darien. Nadya enjoyed reading and cooking and was a work-aholic. She especially loved crafting and watching Hallmark movies. Nadya was a medical auditor by trade with Big Inventory of Virginia. She is preceded in death by her father, Roberto Castro, and her brother, Leonard Velazquez.

Nadya is survived by her mother, Olga Caballero of Darien, son, Allen Gillespie, sibling, Jaime Velazquez of Morrisville, NJ, and two grandchildren, Nolan Gillespie, and Landyn Gillespie.
