Neil L. Harrison, Sr., 76, of Brunswick, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2018, 1:00 pm, with his son, Rev. Luke Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Harrison-Whittaker Hill Cemetery, with Al Chapman, Mitch Ward, Dalton Pearce, Jacob Schwartz, Matthew Harrison, and Phillip Kidd serving as active pallbearers, honorary pallbearers will be the nursing staff of Georgia Hospice care. A visitation for family and friends, will be held at Chapman Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Mr. Harrison was born July 16, 1941, in Brunswick, to Newman Baker Harrison and Amelia Richardson Harrison. He was a 1959 graduate of Glynn Academy, and served with the United States Army as a medic in Okinawa, Japan, during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the People's Liberty Baptist Church. He retired from Seaboard Railroad, and retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier.
Survivors include his children, Neil L. Harrison, Jr., (Rebecca), of Chatsworth, GA, Samuel Luke Harrison (Amanda), of Brooklet, GA, Joshua L Harrison (Leanna), Mary L. Houston (Carlos), and John M. Harrison (Ieysa), all of Brunswick, brothers, Avery Harrison, and Avery Harrison (Ruth), sisters, Mary Schwartz (David) and Yvonne Smith, all of Brunswick, multiple grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Angela S. Harrison, sisters and brothers, Shirley Harrison, Ronald Harrison, Rodney Harrison, and Carol White.
