Norman C. "Peanut" Stubbs, 77, of Brunswick, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, at Baptist Heart Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
Services to celebrate Norman's life, will be held Friday, August 12, 2022, 7:00pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Brother Travis Thrower officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until service time.
Norman was born Nov. 30, 1944, to Harley Bradford Stubbs of Glennville and Lola Griffin Stubbs of Hazlehurst. Norman went to wait on his wife, Katherine, who will join him in heaven one day. They were married for almost 58 years, almost never separated until now. He is also survived by his son, Joseph Bradford Stubbs and his wife, Monica Marie Stubbs, granddaughters, Shandy Marie Frey and her husband David, and Lillian Mae Stubbs, great granddaughter, Ellington Dahlia Frey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William Myron Stubbs, and Goldman Bradford Stubbs, Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Lola Verbeke, brother-in-law, Carl Vernon Verbeke, and sister-in-law, Sylvia Mae Canada.
Norman always wanted to be a mechanic and was very successful. He worked at Coastal Chevrolet, Walker Pontiac, and Bailey's Auto Service, before going into business in 1983, opening Stubbs Auto Repair where he loved working with his son every day. He enjoyed wood working and building furniture, flying Radio Controlled Planes, and car shows with antique cars and street rods. Norman was a member of Golden Isles Baptist Church and Coastal Planes RC Club.
