Obituary

Olivia Gay Jetton, 93, of Brunswick, passed away March 2, 2018, at Gracemore Nursing Home.
A service to celebrate her life, will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018, 12:00 noon, at Chapman Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Keith Powell officiating. A visitation with family and friends, will be held at the funeral home, one hour prior to service time. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Jetton was born February 22, 1925, in Vicksburg, MS, to Frank and Fannie Costello. She was a basketball player and graduate of Jett High School in Vicksburg, MS. In 1943 she married George Howard Jetton, in the chapel of Naval Air Station Pensecola, in Pensecola, FL, and began her journey of Navy wife and mother. Mrs. Jetton had been a resident of Brunswick for the past 59 years, and was a member of Pine Haven Baptist Church, BPOElk's 691 Ladies Auxiliary, and Fleet Reserve Branch 30 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children, Linnie Jetton Torkildsen of Brunswick, and Joseph Jetton of Jesup, a daughter-in-law, Michelle Jetton of Miami, FL, grandchildren, Stacy Jetton, Terra Jetton, Heather Cason (Ray), Jennifer Dean (Trey), John Jetton (Rialyn), Steven Jetton (Rhodalynn), April Wilson (John), Kristin Sisley (Chris), 16 great grandchidren, 4 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Howard Jetton, a granddaughter, Linnie Torkildsen Williford, and sons, Donald Jetton and Skipper Jetton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Ovarian Cancer Research, American Cancer Society.
