Onnie "Buddy" "Pop-"Pop" James Edwards, III, 61, of Brunswick, passed away August 7, 2023, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 20, 2023, 2:00pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Shawn Crews officiating.

Buddy was born August 26, 1961, in Kinston, NC to Onnie James Edwards, Jr. and Ernestine Thompson Edwards.  He had lived in Brunswick since 1980, and was the owner and operator of Buddy's Classic Lawn Care.  He was an avid bowler, loved being outdoors, loved watching Andy Griffith, had a great personality and was a die-hard Georgia Bulldog football fan.

Buddy is survived by his mother, Ernestine Apanites (Michael) of Ohio, his canine companion, Benji, daughters, Cynthia Irons (Dillon) and Candace Hatcher both of North Carolina, grandchildren, Zachary, Autumn, and Cooper Spencer, and Gracie and Ashton Hatcher, siblings, Bronnie Edwards, of NC, Donley Edwards of NC, Ricky Edwards of GA, Kevin Lane of GA, O.J. Edwards (Amy) of GA, Robert Apanites, of OH, Joe Apanites (Ashley) of OH, Albert Edwards (Saundra) of NC, Pansy Holland (Gary) of GA, Paulette Sims (Mark) of GA, Renee' Stradtman (Dave) of GA, and Theresa Carter (Dusten) of OH, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews also survive.  Buddy was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, O.J. and Pauline Edwards, a brother and sister-in-law, Delaney and Sue Edwards, a sister, Shelia Embery, a nephew, Virgil Embry, and his wife, Tina Daniels Edwards.
