Paul Anton
Daniels
Feb 5, 1936 — Nov 6, 2022
Paul Anton Daniels, 86, of Brunswick, entered his eternal Heavenly home on November 6, after his earthly battle was done.
Paul was an avid fisherman in his later years, having worked on the ocean all his life. He began his shrimping career as a third-generation shrimper, following in his grandfather and great grandfather's footsteps. In the off season of shrimping, he worked as a heavy equipment operator. Later in life, Paul worked as a Marine Resource Specialist for the University of Georgia's Research Vessel, the Georgia Bulldog, from which he retired in 2006. Paul was a laid back, always cutting up, kind of guy and was thought of highly by most people he met.
Paul is survived by his son, David 'Bubba' Daniels (Tina), of Brunswick, a daughter, Donna K Daar, of Warner Robbins, grandchildren, Michelle Purcell of Girard, Dana Shead of Brunswick, Brandy Williams and Kim Williams of Warner Robbins, Caleb E. Smith and Carley B. Smith, both of Brunswick, 14 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce J. Daniels, Sr. and Doris Manning Daniels, brothers, Clyde N. Daniels, Bruce J. Daniels, Jr., and a sister, Lily Daniels Joiner, his wife, Lucille Daniels, a stepson, Nolton Carter, daughters, Paula A. Knight, and Tina M. Edwards, grandchildren, Ricky Knight, Shelly N. Smith, D. Snapper Daniels, and Christopher 'J.J." Williams.
Funeral services will be held from the gravesite at Palmetto Cemetery, Wednesday, November 9, 2022, 2:00 pm, with Rev. Darrell Joner officiating. Active Pallbearers will be his great grandsons, Caleb E. Smith, D. Snapper Daniels, II, Drayden S. Daniels, nephew, Whitey Purvis, and lifelong friends, Alfonzo 'Duke' Griffin and Charlie Baldwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Capt. Lindsey Parker, Robert E. Knight, the staff of Promedica Hospice, and Dr. William G. Grubb and staff.
