Obituary

Philip David Johnson, 58, of St. Simons Island, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at his residence after an extended illness.
A service to celebrate his life, will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018, 11:00 AM, at Taylor's United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim McIlwrath officiating, a reception will follow in the church social hall. A burial of his cremains will be held at a later date in Nashville, Indiana, next to his parents, and brother.
Philip was born August 17, 1959, in Brunswick, to Harold Johnson, Sr., and Martha Alice Smith Johnson. He was a member of Taylor's United Methodist Church, and was a 1977 graduate of Brunswick High School. He had formerly been employed by Prevost Coaches as a tour bus driver for many Country music stars, and as project manager for Nash Contractors. Phillip was a man of many talents, he never met a stranger, and always had a good joke to tell, he had a love for airplanes, and could often be found at the airport watching the planes take off and land.
Survivors include the love of his life, his chweenie, Beyonce', a sister, Cindy Johnson-Hall and her husband Eddie of Brunswick, a sister Kathy Johnson, a brother Harold Johnson, Jr.and his wife Karis, all of Nashville, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
