Obituary

Preston Ryan Lawrence, or Bubba, to his family, 20, of Brunswick, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Brantley County, GA.  Preston was a good, kind soul, who loved many things; nothing more than his Mama, his brothers and anything that had greasy parts and traversed the woods and mud. Preston grew up in the church but about 2 years ago, was rededicated along with some of his best friends. The unofficial group chaplain, Nolan Harper, would lead the guys in Bible study regularly which is pretty special for a group of 20-year-old boys.

He loved his grandparents deeply (not just because they would send him home with loads of food). He and his Papa Rick shared a special bond. He called Papa before he made any adult decision because he wanted Papa's approval. Preston's day was not complete without calling his Mama to chitchat, crack jokes and check on his brothers. He was the apple of his mother's eye and an amazing helpmate to her throughout the years. Preston was reliable (usually), funny and rambunctious in the best possible way, with a smirk that could talk you into just about anything.

He was a fearless and daring outdoorsman who found his peace while hunting and his thrills while 4-wheeling through the woods, no shirt, no shoes, living his best redneck life. Whether he was out hunting, tearing up trails on a four-wheeler with his buddies, or figuring out how to fix something most people would've given up on, he was happiest when he was moving, building, and being free. Preston was determined and smart — not the kind of smart that sits still, but the kind that gets things done. He was also obsessed with trading tires and wheels – most of which he stored in his mom's backyard much to her frustration. Preston was 2024 graduate of Glynn Academy and a dedicated employee of GP Cellulose since 2024.

Above all, Preston loved his people with an unwavering loyalty and to know him was to have a protector, a prankster, and a true friend in your corner, making him so easy for us to love.

Preston's memory will be carried on by his loving family who cheered him on throughout his life.

Preston is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Emmett Harvey Beasley, paternal great grandparents, Ray and Billie Jones and E.L. Lawrence.

He is survived by his mother, Sube Lawrence (Chuck Moulton), and his brothers, Max and Sam Lawrence, pup Laura Bush Lawrence; his father, Ryan Lawrence (Susan); his maternal grandmother, Annabelle Beasley and his aunt Leah Hall (Reggie), Emmett and Grace Hall; his paternal grandparents, Sheri and Rick Lawrence; great grandmother Clarice Lawrence, aunt Dawn Owens (Scott), Cameron and Brady Miller; aunt Wendi Williams (Noah), Mason and Alli Williams; and a plethora of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family, including the Perez family. Preston also leaves behind his loving girlfriend Daytona Padgett Loper and a vast circle of wonderful friends who were more like brothers and sisters. The family is grateful for TJ Hill, Evan Fort, Chase Jacobs, and Nolan Harper.

There will be a Service on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 11:00am at First Baptist Church Brunswick, GA. Followed by a celebration of Preston's life at Village Creek Landing on St. Simons Island at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Communities in Schools of Glynn County or to the Lawrence Brothers Support Trust benefiting Max and Sam Lawrence. A trust account has been established at St. Simons Bank & Trust.
