Ramon Miguel Santiago,76, of Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, March 7,2023 at Sears Coastal Nursing Home.

Ramon was born December 2, 1946, in Ft. Clayton of the Panama Canal Zone to Ramon and Anna Maria Santiago.  He was a 1966 graduate of Ferguson High School in Newport News, VA, and earned his bachelor's degree from Thomas Nelson College in Hampton, VA. Ramon was a United States Army Veteran, serving during Vietnam.  After his military service, Ramon was K-9 police officer with the Newport News Police Department, moved on to the motorcycle police, the joined the Bureau of Prisons, serving in numerous positions throughout the United States.  Ramon retired in 1999 from the Bureau of Prisons in Ashland, KY, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and playing golf.  He had lived in Brunswick for the past 10 years.

Ramon is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dale Elizabeth Santiago of Brunswick, children, Raymond Santiago (Brendy) of Massachusetts, Wendy Phillips of Colorado, Dawn Santiago-Garcia (Martin) of Virginia, a sister, Rosa Allen (Richard) of Arizona, 6 grandchildren, 2 nephews and a niece.
