Richard 'Dicky'. Mitchell, 63, of Brunswick, passed away January 3, 2024, at Southeast Georgia Health System.
Private services will be held from the gravesite at Palmetto Cemetery, with a service to celebrate his life with family and friends to be announced at a later date by Chapman Funeral Chapel.
Dicky was born February 7, 1960, in Brunswick to C.D. and Mary Mavromat Mitchell. He had lived in Brunswick all of his life, graduating with the Class of 1970 from Glynn Academy. Dicky was an outboard motor mechanic with Ellis Marine, and maintenance mechanic with Waste Management. He enjoyed boating, fishing, go-kart racing, camping, and antiquing with his wife Barbara, he adored his children, Alicia was his baby girl and Matt was his best friend. Spending time with his family and his friends, was most important to him, as he enjoyed it immensely.
Dicky is survived by his wife of 39 years, Barbara Mitchell of Brunswick, children, Matt Mitchell (Madison Rozier) of Brunswick, and Alicia Ferris (Bryan) of Charleston, SC, grandchildren, Courtland and Anniston Ferris of Charleston, SC, a sister, Cindy McDonald (Bill) and Brother, David Mitchell (Dodie), all of Brunswick, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Mitchell.
Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
