Ricky Merlon Taylor, 68, of Brunswick passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2024, 5:00pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel, with visitation to follow.  A private burial will be held at Taylors Methodist Church Cemetery with Dylan Taylor, Dayton Taylor, Owen Taylor, Robbie Thomas, Tyrone Thomas, and Billy Raab serving as active pallbearers.

Ricky was born August 27, 1955, in Alma, GA to Merlon and Naoma Taylor.  He had lived in Brunswick almost all of his life and was a graduate of Brunswick High School. Ricky retired from Glynn County Public Works in 2015.  He was an avid Stock Car racer at the Golden Isles Speedway and Waycross Speedway, having been racing since his teenage years.  More recently he enjoyed go-kart racing.

Survivors include his mother, Naoma T. Taylor of Brunswick, a sister, Elizabeth Ann Taylor of Brunswick,  children, Chad Taylor (Amanda), of Waynesville, April Taylor of Destin, FL, Clinton Taylor of Brunswick  and Emily Taylor ( Derek Baird) of Knoxville, TN. Grandchildren, Dylan Taylor(Tara), Dayton Taylor(Robin), Trystan Jackson, Owen Taylor and Issac Taylor, Great Grandchildren, Cambreigh Taylor, Nila Taylor and Letty Taylor.
