Robert 'Bruce' Lowie, 75, of Brunswick, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at his residence.

A service to celebrate Bruce's life, will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023, 3:30 pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kris Dockery officiating.  The family will be receiving friends, at the funeral home, one hour prior to service time.

Bruce was born September  29, 1948, in McRae, to James R. and Charlie Coleman Lowie.  He had lived in Brunswick all of his life, attending Glynn County Schools, graduating with the Class of 1968 from Glynn Academy.  He served with the Army National Guard, was a member of IBEW Local 84, a member of B.P.O.Elks 691, and a lineman for Georgia Power, retiring in 2013 after 44 years of dedicated employment.  He enjoyed fishing in the Altamaha River, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.  He loved Georgia Bulldog football, Atlanta Braves baseball, and old cars.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Tina Lanasa Lowie of Brunswick, a son, Edwin Lowie (Caroline) of Wesley Chapel, FL, a sister, Linda Lowie Till (Jim), of Neptune Beach, FL, grandsons, Jonathan Lowie of Darien, Cody Lowie of Jacksonville, great grandchildren, Charlee and Bentley Lowie of Darien, sisters-in-law, Paula Lucas (David) of St. Albans, WV, and Doll Gale of Darien, a brother-in-law, Steven Lanasa of Waynesville, and several nieces and nephews.

Bruce's family would like to offer a special Thank you, to Dr. Richard Taylor and his staff of Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, and Dr. William G. Grubb and staff in Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959, or Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
