Robert 'Bob' Pearo, 80, of Brunswick passed away Wednesday July 8th, 2026, at Southeast Georgia Health System.
Bob was born November 3, 1945, in Rutland, VT, to Robert and Beverly Burke Pearo. He was a 1963 graduate of Nipmuc Regional High School in Mendon, MASS. After graduation, Bob joined the United States Navy serving 7 years during the Vietnam War. His last station of duty found him at NAS GLYNCO in Brunswick, GA in 1971. Bob remained in Southeast Georgia, living in Brunswick, Darien, and on St. Simons Island. Bob was a Fire Fighter with The Glynn County Fire Department and was voted Glynn County Fire Fighter of the Year in 1979. As a fire fighter with Glynn County, he was also a Certified Cardiac Technician and a Certified Paramedic. Bob was an avid boater; he received his Merchant Marine Officer Master's License which was issued by the US Coast Guard in 2001 and enjoyed being the captain of his vessel 'Zapala'. Bob was very knowledgeable in all aspects of life, he had a great sense of humor, loved music, and was an avid fan of Jimmy Buffett.
Survivors include his dear friend, Erin Simpson and her children, Paige Simpson and Shane Simpson, a stepson, Russell Harper, and a sister, Carol Willis (Mark). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Moshier.
Services to Celebrate Bob's life will be held at a later date.
