Roy Wilson Rose, 81, of Brunswick, passed away July 4, 2021, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Services to celebrate Roy's life, will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021, 11:00 am, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Darrell Joiner and Rev. Travis Thrower officiating.  The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 am until service time.  Honorary pallbearers will be Glynn Academy Class of 1958, and the Brunswick Shrine Club.

Roy was born May 25, 1940,  in Brunswick, to Nell and George Rose, Sr., He was a 1958 graduate of Glynn Academy, was retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years of service, and was retired Master Sergeant with the Georgia Air National Guard after 26 years.  He attended Golden Isles Baptist Church, and was a member of the Brunswick Country Club, Brunswick Shrine Club, Ocean Lodge 214 F & AM,  American Legion Post 9, past Member of Brunswick Jaycees, and past Member of Exchange Club of Brunswick.  He loved to play golf, and had coached football and baseball for a number of years with the City Recreation Department.

Roy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nita Rose, a brother, George Rose, Jr., children, Jacey J . Rose, Jimmy Willis, Kim Bearden (Mike), and Lisa Rose. grandchildren, Jamie Willis, Blake Bearden , Justin James, Emery Rose Howard, and several nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Jane Simpson and Robin Pye .  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Rose, and a sister, Kay Rose.
