Royce 'Hubert' Proctor, Sr., 90, of Brunswick, passed away Friday evening at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Funeral services will be held at Glyndale Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 11:30 with Pastor Ben Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at 3 PM in the New Hope Cemetery in Hickox, with his grandsons serving as active pallbearers.

Hubert was born March 1, 1933, in Brantley County, to John Royce Proctor and Mary Lucille Johns.  He served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War, was a shrimper in St Marys and retired as an electrician from Rich Sea Pak.  Hubert was a member of Glyndale Baptist Church.

Hubert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Iona Johns Proctor, a daughter, Dayla Bunton of Jesup, sons, Royce Proctor, Jr., of St. Marys, and Ben Proctor (Diane) of Albany, a brother, Jim Proctor of Portland, OR, sisters, Iris Sloan (Bobby) of Hortense, and Kate Manor (Bicknell) of Hickox, granddaughters, Christina Lynch, Elizabeth Kelly (Tony), Danielle Jones, Miranda Proctor, Samantha Cardenas (Hector), Iona Rooks (CJ), Madeline Proctor, grandsons, John Henry Bunton, John Royce Proctor (Jennifer), Ben E. Proctor (Jordan), Jerry Gray, Jr., Micah Proctor, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Mary Proctor, Lamar Proctor, Oswald Proctor, Faye Proctor and Jewel McDonald.
