Scott Herig, 68, passed away at his sister's home in Brunswick, Ga. on January 10, 2022 after a short but courageous fight with lung cancer.

He grew up in Cairo, Ga. and then moved to Brunswick as a teenager. He felt lucky to have lived in the sixties and seventies to experience all the great Rock 'N Roll that came out of those decades. It inspired him to become a concert promoter and bring Rock 'N Roll to the Golden Isles. His pop festivals on Jekyll Island's south picnic area and his concerts at the Aquarama headlined great bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ted Nugent, Iron Butterfly, Canned Heat, and Leon Russell and the Gap Band. He always invited local bands to perform. He promoted a Spring Jam in Neptune Park with Vic Waters and the local talent. Derek Trucks was his youngest child prodigy who he managed in Derek's earliest years. Scott was meticulous and honest down to the last detail of his concerts, insuring that everyone got paid and a good time was had by all. Scott devoted his life to music which led to many friendships in the music industry and the chance to know great talents. He later enjoyed all that the Internet could offer in music and friendships. He was a huge advocate for animals and particularly cats. You could never have too many cats. He was kind and funny and always had a good story to share and a nice word to say about someone.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard C. Herig and his mother, Kathryn Ham Herig. He leaves behind a sister, Pamela Stewart (Steve) and a brother, Ty Herig, to miss him until we all meet again. He is in Heaven surrounded by loved ones, friends and no doubt many cats and dogs from Rainbow Bridge.
