Shelton Aaron Dukes, 60, of Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

A service to celebrate Shelton's life will be held Friday, July 18, 2025, 5:00pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Brother Michael Batten officiating.

Shelton was born October 3, 1964, in Brunswick, to Oscar and Nellie Dukes.  He had lived in Brunswick all of his life, attending Glynn County Schools, and was a member of Fellowship Methodist Church.  Shelton was employed with the Glynn County Board of Education, and was a self-proclaimed 'Jack Of All Trades' having worked in construction, and as a crabber and shrimper.  He enjoyed fishing and working on cars, and loved spending time with his grandbabies.

Survivors include his mother, Nellie Dukes, his wife, Joyce Bertholf, daughters; Brandy Nell Dukes and Kaylyn Marie Dukes (Zeferino Leon), step-sons; Wendell Bertholf and Johnny Bertholf (Brittany), siblings; Duncan Dukes (Brenda), Gary Dukes, and Theresa Dukes, grandchildren; Cheyenne G. Dukes, Jada A. Newberry, Genesis K. Newberry, Emma L. Bertholf, Kailey L. Bertholf, Hayden L Vaughn, Zoey Bertholf, and Emmett Bertholf, a great grandchild; Nylah Vaughn,  many nieces and nephews, including a special niece; Christina Dukes.  Shelton was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Duncan Dukes, a grandson, Wendell Roy Bertholf, Jr., and a step-son, Kurt Bertholf.
