Shirley Lewis Cheek, 87, of Brunswick, passed away, Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Memorial Services will be held from the gravesite at Palmetto Cemetery, Saturday, 10:00am with Michaele Storck officiating.

Survivors include her children, Donna Cheek Drury (Kevin), Dr. Guy Avery 'Bubba' Cheek (Robyn), and a sister, Brenda Perkins all of Brunswick, grandchildren, Alicia Drury Galloway (Randy), Michaele Drury Storck (Jon), Matthew Coleman Drury (Renee), Lindsey Cheek Ramsey (Brice), and Cory Cheek (Lizzie), great grandchildren, Taylor, Jackson, and Payton Galloway, Coleman and Caleb Storck, Ryder, Noah and Carver Drury, and Reeves Cheek. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Avery and Ocala Douglas Lewis, her husband, Matthew Guy Cheek, an infant son, Donald Guy Cheek, a brother, Ernest Lewis, and sisters, Barbara Ramm and Sharon Pickron.

Shirley was born August 14, 1936, in Brunswick, to Avery and Ocala Douglas Lewis.  Living in Brunswick all of her life, she was a graduate of Glynn Academy, and had worked with her husband, Matthew Guy Cheek, at Glynn Electric Supply.  She enjoyed bowling, having bowled with the Monday Night Mixed League at the former Bowl-Arena of Brunswick and also loved playing Bridge with various groups of friends.
