Stephen Charles Collins, 80, of Townsend, passed away May 3, 2025, at his residence.

Born February 11, 1945, in Waterloo, Iowa, to William and Mary Stanford Collins, he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during Vietnam.  Steve moved from Iowa to Atlanta in 1968, then to Southeast Georgia in 1975.  He received his Bachelors degree from Georgia State College, and his Masters degree in Education from Georgia Southern.  He was a teacher in Art and World History at Brunswick High School, retiring in 2002 and moving to Townsend, GA, where he was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his daughter; Stephanie Collins Reid of Alton, Iowa, grandchildren; Cai Reid, Sarah Reid, and Garrett Reid, and a great granddaughter; Angel Ruevers.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Eugene Collins and Phillip Collins.

A service to celebrate Steve's life, will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Darien at 10:00am.
