Sylba Pass Maroney, 91, of Darien, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, at her residence.
A service to celebrate her life, will be held from the grave site at Palmetto, on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 11:00 am with Pastor Mike Lynn officiating.
Survivors include her children; Ronald Maroney (Kathi), Patsy Buchanan, Nancy Smotzer (Andy), grandchildren; Lee Stallard (Deborah), Russell Stallard (Lindsay), Bradley Maroney (Lindsey), Mason Maroney, Matt Devlin (Shannon), and Michelle Hart (Christopher), great grandchildren; Presley, Bailey, Cooper, Ashley, Drew, Tyler, Madden, Hampton, Ellie, and Charity.
Sylba was born June 29, 1931, in Calhoun, GA, to Newton and Eunice Grogan Pass. She was a 1949 graduate of Glynn Academy, and a graduate of Perry Business School. Sylba had worked for many years as a waitress at the Buccaneer on Jekyll Island, and Ramada Inn at I-95 in Brunswick. In 1998, Sylba and her husband, Walter, moved to Port St. Lucie, FL, where she enjoyed volunteering at the Port St. Lucie Hospital. After Walter's death, in 2015, Sylba moved to Darien, to be closer to her Georgia family, and was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Darien.
