Obituary

Travis William Ricks, 39, of Brunswick, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023.A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 5:30 until 7:30p at Chapman Funeral Chapel.  A memorial service will be held at a later date, and will be announced by Chapman Funeral Chapel.

Travis was born June 22, 1984, in Brunswick to Eddie Ricks and Cassandra Hatcher Ricks.  He had lived in Brunswick all of his life, attended Glynn County Schools, graduating from Glynn Academy in 2002, then attending Coastal Community College.  He was a machinist with Edco Machining Inc., he enjoyed hunting and fishing on the Altamaha River and was a former member of several hunting clubs in the area, and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.  He was a third degree black belt in Karate, achieving his black belt before the age of 15.

Travis is survived by his wife, Amanda Ricks, and sons, Cooper and Jett Ricks, his father, Eddie Ricks (Jana), his mother, Cassandra Hatcher (Jody), brothers, Gage Ricks (Macy) and Patrick Jeremy Wells, grandmothers, Juanita Ricks, Joy Crider, mother-in-law, Loretta Altman, brother-in-law, Si Altman (Jessica), a nephew, River Ricks, nieces, Makenzie & Rilyn Altman, and Sophia Wilson, cousins, Megan Hatcher and Brandon Hatcher, an uncle, Marty Hatcher, and numerous other cousins, aunts, and uncles.  He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William Edward Ricks, Sr., and Myron Carter, his uncle, David Hatcher, and his father-in-law, Willie Altman.

Contributions may be made in Travis' honor to Prime South Bank for his sons, Cooper and Jett.
