Vaughn Alexander Rowland, 80, of Brunswick, passed away early Thursday April 9, 2026, at his home.

Services with Military Honors will be held at Chapman Funeral Chapel at 4pm Monday, April 13, 2026. The family will be receiving guests to celebrate Vaughn at 5pm. Address: 224 Rosewood Drive, Brunswick GA 31520.

Vaughn was born December 22, 1945, in Brunswick, GA to John Trippe and Martha Frances Delilah Jones Rowland.  He lived in Brunswick all of his life and was a member of First Baptist Church of Brunswick.  Vaughn was a graduate of the Glynn Academy Class of 1963. He served  in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the Georgia Air National Guard in 2006.  Passionate about flying, he owned Rowland Flying Service, where he was a flight instructor and airplane mechanic.  He was a former member of the Brunswick Junior Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Free Masons. He loved spending his time outdoors, hunting and fishing. He drove car number 38, racing at the Golden Isles Speedway dirt track. He never turned down a trip on his Harley Davidson. He was a talented musician, playing multiple instruments, including the guitar in his band The Scandels.  He spent his retired years honing his woodworking skills. He had an amazing entrepreneurial spirit.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Rowland of Brunswick and his furbaby Ellie. He is also survived by his children, Shane Alexander Rowland (Barbara), of Tucson, AZ, Aaron Karl Rowland (Melissa Leigh) of Columbia, SC, Jane 'P.J.' Vicent (Josh), of Brunswick, Ga, Jennifer Pflughaupt (Josh), of Killeen, TX, Matthew Willis (Whitney) of Land O'Lakes, FL, Morganne Willis (Jimmy) of Ludowici, GA, his siblings, Laura Paul (Victor) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Tonia Pickren of St. Marys, GA, and Samuel Rowland of Folkston, GA, grandchildren, Conor Alexander Rowland, Emma Marie Rowland, Sean Ryan Rowland, Delila Mae Vicent, Harleigh Davis, Camden Pflughaupt, Harrison Willis, Carter Willis, and Lily Willis.

In addition to his parents, Vaughn was preceded in death by siblings Jimmy Rowland, Karl Rowland and a grandson, Ryan Alexander Rowland.
