Vera Sellers Liles, 86, of Brunswick, passed away, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at her residence.

A service to celebrate Vera's life, will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2025, 4:30pm, at Chapman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Temmer officiating.

Vera was born July 30, 1938, in Baxley to John Weaver Sellers and Lillie Belle Chasteen Sellers.  Vera lived in Baxley until the age of 6, when her family moved to Brunswick.  Brunswick was her home until she married Kenneth C. Brewer, who was serving with the United States Navy.  Their marriage moved them numerous times, up and down the East coast, until Kenneth's retirement in 1968, which brought them back to Brunswick, which became their permanent home.  Vera was a member of the former Taylor's United Methodist Church and was a telephone operator with Bell South.  She then went to work with the Glynn County Board of Education, where she was a front desk receptionist assisting with Human Resources.  After retirement, her love for animals lead her to open Petite Pooch Sitting, giving her the joy of helping others take care of their beloved fur babies.  She enjoyed doing crossword and cryptogram puzzles, but her favorite pastime was being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and gave unselfishly to anyone in need.

Survivors include her children; Sharon Brewer Hammer, Sandi Brewer Liles (Johnnie), and Kenneth Steven 'Steve' Brewer (Susan), all of Brunswick, grandchildren; Kenneth Hammer of Brunswick, Ray Hammer (Suzanne) of Texas, Katherine Hammer of Colorado, Jordan Liles (Ashley) of Brunswick, Luke Liles (Allison) of Inverness, FL, Robbie Thrower (Mandy) of Waynesville, Steven Kicklighter (Krystin) of Guyton, GA, Cody McDonald (Alyza) of Glen Burnie, MD, and Kendall Brewer (Fiancée', Ainsley Mason) of Brunswick, siblings; Cecil Sellers, Sr., of Hoschton, GA, Denzil Sellers of St. Simons Island, Janice Marie Griffin of Baxley, and Jerry Sellers (Selene) of Brunswick, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Kenneth Brewer, and Johnnie Liles, Sr., a daughter, Vera Evelyn Brewer, a grandson, Timothy Hammer, a great grandson, Jason Hammer, brothers, Eugene Sellers and Melton Sellers, a sister, Janette Hale, and a son-in-law, Charles Hammer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to a local animal shelter, Hospice of the Golden Isles, or to your favorite charity, in Memory of Mrs. Vera Sellers Liles.
