Walter R. "Buzz" Norwood. Jr., 71, of Waverly, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 3:00 pm, from the gravesite at Emanuel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Randy Watson officiating.

Survivors include his wife Jeannine C. Norwood of Waverly. brother, Leo F. Barrientos (Ruby) of Gretna, LA, friends, Juanita & Randy Douglas Family, Sabrina & Jerry Rich Family.  He was preceded in death by his step-son, Jeffrey E. King, II, and parents, Walter R. Norwood, Sr., and Melva Harvey Norwood.

Buzz was born October 3, 1950, in New Orleans, LA, to Walter Ramsey Norwood, Sr., and Melva Harvey Norwood.  Coming from Louisiana, he had been a resident of South Georgia since 1994, and was a heavy equipment operator.  He enjoyed fishing and bike riding, and recuing all types of animals in need, making sure no animal went hungry.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia, or Castaways Animal Rescue of Darien.
