He grew up most of his life in Brunswick but spent most summers at his grandparents home near Soperton, GA on the large working farm they owned in Treutlen, County.

Allyn graduated in 1963 from Glynn Academy and in his Senior year was voted Best Looking and was a member of the SAD Fraternity.  He was in the first class of Brunswick Junior college where he was on the basketball team. His college days were spent at several college campuses to include Brewton Parker and the University of GA. Allyn also was a member of the Army National Guard where he was trained as a Medic.

In 1984 he moved to Columbus, GA where his sister Paulette had moved and began working for a local firm and then moved to Coldwell Banker Kennon and Parker. That is where he made many of his most cherished friends and others in the Real Estate Community. He was a Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Club and he had attained his broker's license as well.

He married Grace Lusher in 1986 and had two children, Emily and Ryan. Those two children were the center of his life and he was better for having become a father.
