William Andrew Peterson, 88, of Brunswick, GA, passed away March 27, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, GA.

Born September 29, 1937, in Brunswick, GA, to Russell Aubrey Peterson and Sally Swan Peterson.  He retired from the City of Ocala Fire Department in Ocala, Florida in 1992 with the rank of Captain.  He then began working at Ocklawaha Hardware in Ocklawaha, Florida.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, loved gardening, fishing, and crabbing, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.  Coming from Summerfield, FL, he had lived in Brunswick for the past 5 years.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dianne Peterson, children, Bill Peterson (Christy) of Blairsville, GA and Pam Bean (Brian) of Brunswick,  a sister, Trudy Norris of Darlington, SC., and grandchildren, Kelby Bean and Griffin Bean, a great granddaughter, Lilliana King, a niece and 3 nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother Russell Aubrey Peterson Jr., and  a son, Douglas Anthony Peterson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to St. Joseph's/Candler of Savannah.

Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date.
