"Our Family serving Your Family Since 1970"
ABOUT US
Chapman Funeral Chapel opened January 1, 1970, by Clyde Allison ’Al’ Chapman, Jr, on Stafford Avenue off of Altama Avenue in Brunswick, in an, at the time, not-so-small 4,500 sq. ft. brick building with 2 doors and no windows. It began as a family-oriented, full funeral service provider, operated by Licensed Funeral Directors Al and his brother Jo, to serve the community with pride and compassion, in assisting families with funeral services for their loved ones. Their mother, Zailee Chapman, kept the office organized and the boys ‘in line’. The wives and children quickly learned the business, as they were the secretaries from home, answering the home phone extensions in the off hours, long before pagers, cell phones, answering machines, and answering services.
As of today, Chapman Funeral Chapel is still owned by the same owner; we now have two facilities: Allison Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in St. Marys, Georgia (June 1, 1999), offering cremation, traditional funeral services, burial vaults, and monuments. And our new location of Chapman Funeral Chapel (October, 2001) in Brunswick, offering on-site cremation, traditional funeral services, burial vaults, and monuments.
We are blessed to be successful in our community and are proud to say that we were all born and raised in Glynn County. We appreciate the patronage of all the families we have served over the past years, for it is their continued support that has helped us with our success.
